Let me start this post by saying that I am deeply touched and upset over the Colorado shooting. I think this is tragedy is just too horrible for words. I watched interviews of the victims and even tried putting myself in the situation of being in that theater at the time of the shooting, I cannot even think about it before I start to cry. I mean, thinking of the parents in there trying to protect their kids, I cannot think about it. It is just something that no human being should have to be put through, we are not strong enough for that.
…with that being said…this is when I think media takes over and makes this situation worse. Not worse when it comes to sharing facts, but with all the lies and speculation that comes with it, it drives me crazy reading some of the things people post on twitter, Facebook, and other media outlets. I have noticed that people that post these hurtful things either do not have kids of their own or just have no brains at all…because posting such garbage outrages me…! Do people not think of the victims and the victims families before posting things?
Other posts that are getting my on nerves are the “gun” people. These people need to sit down, no one cares what you would of done since you have a license to carry….no one cares what would of happened if CO had tighter restrictions on gun laws. Seriously people, what criminal or crazy person cares about a gun law? People were going to the movies to watch a movie…no one thought about bringing a gun to the movies, and you shouldn’t have to. Thinking about bringing a gun to a movie shouldn’t even be in your head. Even if someone had a gun do you think in that instance they even thought about using it? NO ONE CARES….look what happened…it happened. Stop posting about guns, and laws…it is not helping anything. Tighter gun laws are not going to help anything, if someone is going to do something crazy, they are going to do it, there will always be ways to do it. Do not write what ifs, do you really think that mom that is sitting by her kids side praying they pull through at the hospital is thinking “if only someone had a gun and shot him” NO…they are praying their kid makes it…enough said.
Then you have the people that want to be stars in the moment on media outlets. The people that “were supposed to be in that theater but something came up and they didn’t go.” Really? No one cares that you were going to be there…you were not there and that means someone else was in your place that are either hurt, killed, or traumatized for the rest of their life. I don’t care that you were not there and were supposed to be there, get off the TV, blog, Facebook, or twitter and happy that you are here and go kiss your families, because that person that was in your seat might not be there anymore to do that! Getting your “15 minutes of fame” through such a sick act makes you just as bad….(again in my opinion.)
