First, let me start by saying in NO WAY and I taking credit for this idea, I am not this creative, shoot….I am not creative. This is another Pinterest find. I searched Pinterest for “Easter egg wreath” and a million pins came up to a million different blogs so I cannot sit here and list everyone. I just wanted to make it clear, I didn’t come up with this on my own! (smile)

What I used…

2 big bags of bright colored Easter (I used bright because it is hanging on my door and I knew it was going to end up sun bleached, so starting with pastel would just not be smart since I do plan on keeping this for a few years)

1 bag of plastic grass. (you can use paper, but again…the whole sun thing)

1 big piece of cardboard (I dug an old box out of my parents trash, flattened it and used that)

Hot glue

Welcome, Rico, to our home…

RICO

Sunday morning I was looking at the pets on Craigs List. I do this every so often because Xavier is always asking for a dog. We actually went all the way to Ohio to look at a half German Shepherd/Half Lab this past Wednesday but he was too crazy for us. Anyway, back to Sunday. I happen to come across this ad for a little half Yorkie/Chihuahua. The ad basically said they were moving and couldn’t take the dog with them to their new home. The little boy was 10 months old and was house trained (with some accidents here and there) and even went on a puppy pad if couldn’t get out in time. Dream dog, right? I asked Andrew and then we sent the e-mail. Found out the dog (which name is Rico) was used to being around kids, didn’t bark a lot, and was very lovable. We had to meet him...

I made cleaner, and so can you!

Easy cleaning!

One of my good online friends Laura told me about how she has been making cleaners for years so she slipped me her recipes. I was anxious to try it, I literally went out the same night and bought all the stuff. I do not know what made me want to change, maybe it is the throwing away money on many different products that are full of crap that didn’t work. I was a cleaner buying fanatic because even though I cleaned well, it never seemed “clean.” Here is Laura’s recipe (I give her all the credit because I would of never done this without her)

Ingredients

1 big spray bottle full of water

1 tablespoon of Castile Soap (Baby Mild Kind)

2 tablespoons of white vinegar

10-20 drops of essential oil

Put them all together and mix and start to clean...

Ikea Deal (or should I stay steal)

My cute spice jars

Anyone else hate a messy spice cabinet? That is one thing that irritates me in my new house. I do not have a lot of room in my cupboards, I really have no room…so finding a way to organize all my spices is a challenge because when cooking, and a messy hubby, when I get the spices neatly in order, the next time I look at them they are a freakin’ mess again. That’s right, FREAKIN’! I tried one of the metal spice rack stands, which those do help but when you have a million different brands and sizes of spices it still doesn’t look neatly organized. It looks more like a neat mess. This leads me to my new deal/steal I found at Ikea a few weeks ago…

My cute spice jars

Glass spice jars! Some of y’all are like “duh” but honestly, I never saw them for the price...

Trying to “go green”

What I look like now...

I dislike hate cleaning. Hate it, I can think of a million other things that I would rather do with my time. Seriously, a million. The one thing I cannot stand, a messy house…so I must clean. I have a million products that I use…kitchen cleaner, Clorox wipes, toilet cleaner, bathtub cleaner, bathroom surface cleaner, window cleaner, wood cleaner/polish….and I can go on and on. I love cleaning products, but more importantly I do not feel like that are working unless they leave a strong smell after I am done...

29, just another year!

I really have not too much to say today. I am 29 today. I know that is  not “old” but it is a reality that this is my last year of my 20′s. My 20′s have been wonderful, I got married, had my son….they are the best years of my life. I just cannot believe that it has been 9 years already since I turned 20…like seriously? Where has the time gone? That is what I am sad about, not the number, but how fast life really does fly bye! On that note….I am staying in my pj’s all day and spending it the right way….watching cartoons with my lil’man!

Ever want to pull your own hair out?

woman_pulling_hair_out

Have you ever got to the point over certain situations that you just want to pull your hair out? I am about there right now. I am counting down until the 10th so that Andrew and I can drop the boy off at grandma’s for the day/night and we can have a blast with our closest friends. It is soo needed. The plan, getting a hotel room in the city of Pittsburgh and doing an all day/night bar crawl with them for St. Patrick’s Day. This is going to be a blast, we do it once a year and the planning just makes me laugh. Watching everyone’s posts leading up to it on Facebook bring a smile to my face during the hectic times.

Anyway, “why does a stay at home mom need a break?” I know some people might be asking this, but I will explain…and the reason for the hair pulling...

Baskets For My Kitchen!

I wish I would of taken a before picture so I didn’t have to try to explain my shelving in my kitchen. Well, when we moved into our house there is not a pantry, but there is a built in storage for can goods and food in the wall in the kitchen. The only problem with that, everyone can see everything and it honestly looked a mess, and we all know when one thing in the room is unorganized, the whole room looks cluttered.

Thanks to Pinterest (I love this site) I came up with using matching baskets and jars to organize all the foods in, that way it looks totally organized and you can put all your foods away and you can know when everything is. WONDERFUL! I don’t know why I can not come up with ideas like this on my own, my kitchen could of looked soo much nicer months ago.

I also organized my c...

Southwestern Chili

I made this a few months ago and thought I would share! My cousin made it and she told me she just threw different beans and “crap” (lol) in her chilli and came up with this. I told her it would be an awesome crock-pot dinner…so I attempted and came up with this!

1-2 pounds of ground lean turkey. (I buy the leanest I can find…)

1 can of black beans

1 can of garbanzo beans (chic peas)

1 can black-eyed peas

1 can black beans

1/2 bag frozen green pepper chopped

1/2 bag  frozen onion chopped

1 bag frozen corn (I found a western corn mix)

1 big can  canned tomatoes

1 big can of tomato puree

spices of your choice (i like spicy so I used red pepper flakes and some chili powder)

Cook the lean ground turkey and drain

add everything to the crock pot, stir, and let it get hot (since everything ...
